Bridgeport Series 1 is renowned for its cost effective versatility, ideal both for tool-room and production work. This machine accommodates simple and complex work by allowing the tool to be positioned and orientated for compound axis machining. Both types have a 5 inch hard-chrome plated R8 quill that is ground and lapped to the main casing honed bore. |
The 12 speed V-belt drive' variant is excellent for slower speed work, with power supplied through a strong and reliable back-gear assembly. |
- Two infinitely variable speed ranges (50 to 450 rpm, 450 to 3750 rpm). The speed setting dial for the variable-speed head is selected whilst the motor is running
- Quick-action drilling and fine-feed quills. The handles of both the quick-action drilling and wheel operated fine-feed are detachable
- Three rates of power feed, down and up are provided
- The brake slows the spindle rapidly from high speed and can be locked for tool changes
- A clutch, designed to slip in overload conditions, protecting the spindle from damage
